How to use it
- Weigh the platinum parts only (remove stones if you can).
- Choose the fineness from the mark (e.g. 950 or Pt950).
- Enter a current price per troy ounce and, optionally, a buyer offer.
Pure platinum (g) = weight in grams × fineness. Value = pure platinum ÷ 31.1035 × price per troy ounce.
A metal-content estimate, not an appraisal or an offer. Other platinum-group metals in the alloy are not valued.
Frequently asked questions
Questions about this tool
What does Pt950 mean?
It means the alloy is 950 parts per thousand platinum (95%). It is the most common platinum standard for jewelry.
Why is a buyer offer lower than melt value?
Refiners and buyers deduct refining costs, assay costs and their margin, so offers are usually below the metal-only value.
